Phillip R. Dixon Sr.

Phillip R. Dixon is a native of Wake Forest, North Carolina and a graduate of William G. Enloe High School in Raleigh, North Carolina. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (B.S.B.A.) from East Carolina University and a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law.
Mr. Dixon has previously served as Chair of the Board of Trustees of Pitt Community College and as Chair of the Board of Trustees of East Carolina University. He represents numerous public bodies, including Greenville Utilities Commission of the City of Greenville, NC, the Town of Ayden, NC, and Carolina Donor Services (formerly Carolina Organ Procurement Agency), which works in conjunction with Duke University, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Bowman-Gray, and the East Carolina University Schools of Medicine, to provide organ and transplant services to seventy-nine (79) of one hundred (100) counties in North Carolina. He previously served as a member of the Board of Directors of North Carolina Citizens for Business & Industry, and as former Chair of the North Carolina Center for Public Policy & Research. Mr. Dixon’s recognitions include Citizen of the Year and Volunteer of the Year by the Pitt-Greenville Chamber of Commerce and Outstanding Alumnus, East Carolina University.
He has also received Distinguished Service Awards from the East Carolina University Alumni Association, the Greenville Jaycees, Pitt Community College, the Boy Scouts of America, and the Education Law Section of the North Carolina Bar Association. He currently is a member of the Distinguished Advisory Council of the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University, and a member of the UNC Board of Governors.
